The Pop-Up Bike Shop series is organized by Tri-State Trails, Cincinnati Red Bike, MoBo Bicycle Co-op, and Queen City Bike with support from REI Bike Shop, Reser Bicycle Outfitters, and many talented, big-hearted volunteers from across the region. At each Pop-Up Bike Shop, we offer free bicycle tune-ups while educating participants about bike maintenance, stress-free cycling and walking paths, and upcoming community events.

In 2023, we hosted five events, fixed up 144 bikes, and distributed over 100 rechargeable lights, 75 locks, and 36 helmets. This series thrives on the talent, compassion, and time of local volunteers who warmly welcome visitors, assist with bicycle tune-ups, share event information, and provide general support. Tri-State Trails is excited to announce that the Pop-Up Bike Shop series was recently awarded funding from the Bell Charitable Foundation, the William P. Anderson Foundation, and the Kentucky Bicycle & Bikeway Commission’s Paula Nye Memorial Education Grant for 2024.

Collectively, these substantial contributions enable us to expand our services and outreach to serve diverse neighborhoods, making bicycle repair and resources more accessible throughout our community. The combined grants also signify a collective effort and commitment toward promoting bicycling, fostering community engagement, and creating a more bike-friendly environment.
