Opportunities to get involved in 2022

Monday, February 7, 2022 by Wade Johnston

Tri-State Trails is excited to announce some new ways for you to get involved in our work. We’re launching two new committees: our Regional Trail & Bikeway Committee and Active Transportation Coalition.

Regional Trail & Bikeway Committee

If you’re working on planning, designing, building, or maintaining an active transportation project, we encourage you to join our Regional Trail & Bikeway Committee. Similar to past quarterly meetings, the purpose of this group is to convene professionals in the field to learn from each other and work collaboratively on shared goals. Through this group, we’ll uplift best practices locally from trail managers, planners, and builders. The Regional Trail & Bikeway Committee will meet four times throughout the year. To start, we’ll meet virtually, but we may venture out on to the trail for a field trip in the future.

Active Transportation Coalition

We’re also creating a new outlet for community-minded individuals to learn how to make a difference in their own neighborhoods: our Active Transportation Coalition. If you are a resident working on a community project, or just someone with an idea you’re passionate about making happen, this group is for you. We’ll feature local success stories and share what others have done to make tangible progress on the ground.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

Throughout the year, we organize many events, and often times, we can use an extra set of hands! If you have a particular skill you’re willing to lend as a volunteer, please reach out to Caitlin Sparks (caitlin at tristatetrails dot org) to learn how to get involved.
