Due to high COVID-19 community spread, we will host the Regional Trails & Bikeway Committee meeting online via Zoom instead of an in-person meeting. Please register below for access to the Zoom link. At our next Regional Trail & Bikeway Committee meeting, we’ll feature local and national players who are working to cultivate the next generation of cyclists. Rick Holt, Researcher/Co-Founder at Early Childhood Mobility Coalition, will introduce the concept of “traffic gardens,” which has successfully integrated bike riding into the second grade curriculum in Washington D.C. We’ll compare this national model to initiatives happening locally, like “bike rodeos” in Anderson Township and MoBo Bicycle Co-op’s Kids Day, a year-round education program for kids under the age of 16.
